If I had all of the money in the world, I would spend it at The Container Store. In my dream world, everything I own would be in a container and boxed up perfectly, everything would have a home, and everything would be tucked into its proper place at the end of the day.

Spoiler alert, I don’t have all of the money in the world, by any means, but making sure everything has a home is still of the utmost importance to me. I recently saw Jen Atkin’s video on her tips and tricks for organization, and I was blown away. I immediately ran to The Container Store.

I’m constantly collecting beauty products, whether I purchase them or they are sent to me, they never seem to stop piling up, and I’m always thinking of how to store them so that I never forget what I have. In my opinion, there’s nothing worse than forgetting that you have a product and finding it past its expiration date. One of the things I love most about all of my products is how beautiful they are. I love to look at them admire the branding, packaging and care each company put into their final product. I was drawn to Jen’s style of organization for two reasons. One reason was that everything was visible. There was nothing you couldn’t see. The second reason was that everything was color coordinated. Yes, I am 100% that person. Everything I have is color coordinated. My clothes on my clothing rack, my shoes, and even the apps on my phone get sorted by color, so sorting my beauty products in this way makes perfect sense to me.

Given that I love packaging, I memorize what all of my favorite products look like, so when I go to reach for them, finding them is incredibly simple. I purchased two of THESE for each side of the three tiered display podium. THIS is the display shelf. I bought it in white, but it also comes in clear acrylic and stainless steel. The lazy susan style of tray allows for me to quickly locate my favorite products.

Jen and RiOrganize are brilliant for this concept, and I’m so happy I was able to replicate it on a smaller scale for my home.

What can I organize next? Are you interested in seeing how I keep other areas and spaces organized?
