Beauty Fridge Top Shelf Favorites
A beauty refrigerator may just be my smartest purchase of 2019. There are certain products that need to remain refrigerated for a number of reasons. Whether it’s to preserve the ingredients, ensure effectiveness or calm the skin, there are a number of beauty products and tools that have their rightful place in the cold. Since I’ve gotten my fridge, it’s been fun to see how the products that get a coveted spot on these shelves change and get swapped out. There are a few solid rules of thumbs when it comes to the products that should be kept in the refrigerator, here they are:
ANYTHING THAT TOUCES THE EYE - WITH ONE EXCEPTION
Anything that touches your eyes should be refrigerated, with the exception of creams. If it’s an eye patch, serum or jade roller, throw it in the fridge so that it can do its thing. The main goal of these items is to depuff, so for that reason, the colder the better.
ANY FRESH PRODUCTS
Any natural or fresh/handmade products should be kept refrigerated. Whenever I buy products from Lush, I know that I need to keep them cold in order to preserve their shelf life. Masks and cleansers are two main products from Lush that should be kept cold.
SHEET MASKS
Sheet masks are the number one product that should be refrigerated. Sheet masks brighten, tighten, shrink and moisturize, but they are so much more effective when they are cold. If you store nothing else in your fridge, make sure to throw your sheet masks in there.
Even though there are many products that are made better by being kept in the refrigerator, there are a few products that shouldn’t be kept in there. Oils, creams and balms don’t need to be refrigerated, and it could actually change the way that they go on the skin. Are you convinced to buy one? If you already have one, what do you store in it?
