30 Days of Play

I don’t know when it happened, but I believe that we’ve gotten to the point where we feel as though we can’t do anything that’s fun for the sake of having fun. Everything feels like it has to be productive, or a side hustle or that there has to be some sort of “get" on the other side in exchange for your time. In reality, I believe that the “get” can simply be enjoyment and something that feels good in our soul. So, for this reason, I’m going on a 30 day pursuit of fun. This is something that I did last year, and I’m excited to do it again this year.

So, for the next 30 days, i’m prioritizing play. Simply having fun because I deserve to have fun and to remind myself that it’s okay. As a part of this journey, I’m hoping to truly figure out what I enjoy. I feel there was a point in my life when I stopped thinking about what brings me joy because I was thinking about what was “cool” or “trendy” or “aspirational” to like and enjoy. This really scares me because the idea of looking up one day and not knowing what makes my heart feel good free of outside influence isn’t a reality I want to live in.

To document my journey, I’ll be blogging full 2000s style. It feels like it’s honoring my teenage self by returning to the original style of blogging that I fell in love with, so if you want to walk with me in this journey, keep checking in as I share my learnings. Let’s play!
