How I Double My Natural Laundry Detergent and Save Money!

I love saving money. When I was younger and I would get a gift card for my birthday or for Christmas, I would hold onto it as if it was going to double in value. My mom still finds gift cards at my parent’s house that I never used. I once held onto a Tower Records gift card until they went out of business. So, I guess sometimes you can save for a bit too long.

As you all know, I’m also obsessive about the products that I use in my home. We often worry about what’s outside of the home, but we don’t realize how scary the products in our home can be! The combination of my love for saving money and my love for natural products is what leads to my love of high quality natural home products. When you use quality natural products, you can make them LAST.

If you’re looking to make the switch to a natural home, your laundry detergent is one of the best places to start. I’ve talked about this before, but the amount of toxins in your typical household cleaners and detergents can be really harmful. The laundry soap I love is Thieves Laundry Soap from Young Living. This soap is free from SLS, dyes, petrochemicals, formaldehyde, phosphates, synthetic perfume and optical brighteners. I find it so wild that they have to say that this laundry soap is free of all of those things because many detergents have them! insert shocked emoji here.

So, not only is this laundry soap a clean choice, but it is an incredibly economical choice! The Thieves Essential Oil in the laundry soap is so concentrated, that you can make two bottles of soap from the one bottle you get.

HOW TO

  • You’ll need a glass pump bottle

  • Pour half of the bottle of detergent into the empty glass pump bottle

  • Add two capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner

  • Top off with distilled water

With this recipe, you now have two full bottles of laundry soap!
