Somehow, when my skin can use a facial the timing never seems to align with my bank account. As a result, I’ve had to learn how to give myself a stellar at home facial. My goal is to always strip away all of the dead skin and dryness and pump my skin back up with moisture. These steps can be followed with any products and brands of your choice, but the recipe should remain the same. With that said, no one knows your skin like you do, so if something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it!

CLEANSE

First, you’ll want to get all of the impurities off of your skin, just like you would any time you’re washing your face. If you want to try a foam cleanser, I would suggest THIS ONE. If you want a more milky and gentle cleanser that will truly give you a spa experience, THIS ONE is incredible. For a natural option, I will always swear by THIS ONE.

EXFOLIATE

Exfoliation is extremely important because this is when you are really removing the dead skin from your face and allowing for the new cells to come through. THIS exfoliator is mild enough to be used up to twice a week. Exfoliators are extremely personal because everyone’s skin reacts differently, so trial and error is your friend in this process.

MASK

Applying a mask after exfoliating your face is a way to provide support to your pores and get nutrients back into the skin. There are a few options for the type of mask you use. Some people may go with a enzyme facial that will continue to peel away the dead skin, while others may opt for a drying mask to target any blemishes. You can also use a hydrating facial during this step, which will start the process of sealing in moisture. For the enzyme option, THIS MASK is fantastic. A wonderful drying mask is THIS OPTION, and THIS MASK is great for hydration.

OILS

Oils are what everyone thinks of when they think of moisturizing. Once you’ve cleared an prepped your pores with the other steps, you want an oil that is going to absorb into your skin and provide long lasting moisture. THIS OIL is wonderful, as is THIS ONE.

Happy masking, everyone! Comment below and let me know if there are any facial products you love that I missed.
