As you all know, I am currently only buying new products once I have completely used anoter. For example, Simone only gets a new moisturizer when Simone finishes the one she’s using. I recently reviewed a few of the products that I’ve finished. You can find that post, here. With that, I figured I was due for a trip to Sephora.
I have to admit, while I got some replacement items that I did need, I also picked up a couple of new items that I have been dying to try. I know, that wasn’t in the plan, but I couldn’t help myself. Starting with the products that I needed, in my empties post, I spoke about my frustration with the last couple of moisturizers that I have gone through. I ended up spending a little more than I usually do on a moisturizer, this time around, and I purchased the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream. Now, THIS, is a moisturizer! The texture is exactly what I think of when I think of when I think of a good moisturizer. It’s thick and luxurious, and my skin feels nourished after using it. I do have oily skin, so I am going to see how this products works when using it day and night. If it seems to be too much, I may use to only using it before bed.
Next was the bronzer. As I mentioned in that post, I have been using the same Bobbi Brown bronzer for ages. I love it, and it’s absolutely one of my Holy Grail products, but I wanted to give something new a try. I ended up picking up one of the Becca Sunlit bronzers. This one is definitely different from the Bobbi Brown in that, this one has shimmer. I think that I will love this one once Spring and Summer roll around. I did wear it today, and I got a lot of compliments, so that was definitely motivation to continue to use it!
I needed a new setting spray, and I decided to take it back and give Urban Decay another try. I used this one ages ago, and I’m not sure why I ever stopped using it, but I’m excited for round two. I’ve used these Farsali Unicorn Drops before, and these are NOT an Instagram trap. I absolutely love them, and even though they are pricey, they are incredible. They help your foundation go on so smoothly, and they give you an airbrushed look. I would recommend these to anyone.
There is no reason for the two lip colors, other than the fact that…I realllly wanted them. I have had my eye on a nude lipstick to replace my Charlotte Tilbury, that is almost out, and I love this nude/burnt red that I found from YSL. I have been dying for a product from Pat McGrath Labs, and this lip gloss does not disappoint. It is absolutely beautiful.
Lastly, I’ve heard a lot about the Hourglass Lip Oil, and I thought I would give it a shot. When the weather gets colder, it becomes more and more difficult to keep my lips moisturized. So far, I like it, but I’m not sure if I like it enough to justify the price tag. I will update you all down the line when I start to see results!
